ABOUT
Elise Schweitzer’s paintings depict large-scale figurative action, and intimate abstractions of light and form. Equestrians, skydivers and party crashers populate her figurative canvases, while in her abstractions, architectural units of windows and enclosures are shadowed and illuminated by imaginary lights. She paints from memory and observation.

Schweitzer is Associate Professor of Art at Hollins University.

Born Saint Louis 1982.
